Directions

Unfortunately, our postcode covers a wide area and some sat nav systems will take you to the wrong side of a locked gate.

From Balloch, follow signs for Stirling (A811). Continue for about 1.5 miles going past a garden centre on the left – just past a farm building on the left there is a sharp right bend marked with >>>>>> signs. Immediately before this bend there is a turning Left off the main road marked Scottish Water. Take this turning and proceed up the road past the Water Works on the right. You will see our sign Lorn Mill Cottages under PRIVATE ROAD notice – follow private unsurfaced farm track for about ½ mile through woodland before a brilliant view of Loch Lomond – the track descends down to The Lorn and Mill Cottages on your right. You have arrived!

From Stirling, take the A811 going west for Loch Lomond along the Carse (long straight road from below Stirling Castle).
Go through the villages of Arnprior and Buchlyvie. Go across the dogleg junction at Ballat keeping on the A811. Keep going past the village of Drymen.
After Drymen (bypassed) take the A811 which turns right at a junction sign  posted to Erskine Bridge.
Keep going through the village of Gartocharn.
After leaving Gartocharn the road rises up a gradual steady incline for about ½ mile, at the crest there is “Z” bend sign – in the Z bend is a private road with chevron <<<<< signs beside it. The road is marked Water Works. Take this right turning (between a small gatehouse and the car recycling yard) and proceed up the hill past the Water Works on right. You will see our Lorn Mill Cottages sign under a Private Road notice – keep going for about half a mile on a private unsurfaced farm track through woodland.
Shortly you will see the most wonderful view of Loch Lomond. The track descends down to the The Lorn and Mill Cottages on your right. You have arrived!
